The task was to create surfaces that are not only visually compelling but also durable and easy to maintain, even with daily use. To achieve this, we developed a coordinated surface concept that perfectly blends functional requirements with aesthetic appeal.

Our approach began with detailed consultations and careful planning. We examined the client’s vision and daily routines to understand how the surfaces would be used most often. Based on this insight, we selected materials and finishes that deliver both practical performance and visual harmony.

The furniture elements were coated with high‑quality finishes that enhance both durability and design integrity. The custom washbasin, thoughtfully positioned within the overall concept, reinforces this unity: the flow from the wall through the wash area feels seamless and refined. Carefully chosen materials and finishes ensure that the washbasin and surrounding furniture speak the same design language – giving the ensemble a consistent and cohesive appearance.

The project phase of liquid metal refinement is an exciting combination of craftsmanship, artistic creativity, and technical expertise. With passion and dedication, Gestaltungswerk creates unique works that showcase the beauty and versatility of metal in impressive ways.

We were delighted to take on the planning for the master bathroom, which occupies a generous 80 m² of the attic space along with the bedroom and dressing area. Every detail was designed to achieve the homeowners’ greatest wish: a consistently minimalist, seamless bathroom with no distracting elements. Ample storage was cleverly hidden within the walls.

Where straw bales were once stored through the winter, a high‑tech shower system for true wellness enjoyment now awaits. This rustic attic, full of surprises, presented challenges such as an unusual floor structure, which we solved with a specialized floor system that lovingly integrates the old beams. Two dormers also bring abundant natural light into the rooms and beautiful views of the outdoors.

The washbasin design was reduced to its essence: two water sources create a magical mirror of water on the smooth surfaces, and watching the water gently flow away is incredibly soothing. A special highlight: this Baqua washbasin was finished with the same surface material used for the floor and wet‑area walls.

One of the standout features is the spacious shower area, which feels like a room within a room yet remains open and filled with daylight. A floor‑to‑ceiling glass panel nearly invisibly separates it from the WC. The walk‑in shower system was equipped with a variety of spa‑style showerheads for ultimate relaxation.

The young homeowners — parents of two small children — wanted a modern, seamless bathroom. But that wasn’t all: the end result was to be minimalist, yet the materials should feel luxurious and high-quality. They requested a terrazzo floor and terrazzo wall cladding.

Terrazzo floors have a long history, dating back to ancient Roman villas, where a mixture of binder and aggregate created durable, elegant surfaces. The demand for this special flooring grew steadily, establishing a tradition of craftsmanship passed down through generations.

However, using traditional terrazzo techniques here would have been too error-prone. Instead of compromising, we developed a seamless material in terrazzo style ourselves. After extensive testing, we achieved the perfect blend: color and glass aggregates were mixed individually to suit this project.

Not only was the material quality important to the homeowners, but all bathroom furniture and sanitary products had to be absolutely exclusive. They quickly decided on a custom washbasin and shower system from Baqua.

The washbasin, called the “Stapler,” was custom-made for the family and harmonizes perfectly with the plaster material. Both the splash plate (which cleverly hides the basin drain but is easy to remove) and the casing and drawer fronts were flawlessly finished. A drywall partition was installed so that a mirrored cabinet could sit flush with the wall.
